Keith Tripler (@ktripler) is an avid a cappella fan and participant, currently a member of Syracuse University’s Orange Appeal , he is the PR Director and website manager for the group. This past spring he was a co-coordinator of the Social Media and A Cappella Conference (SMACC) and hopes to continue being involved in the aca-world for many years to come.

A Cappella Events– Tickets for Sojam, the Durham, NC based CASA a cappella event are currently on sale. The festival will feature performances and workshops by the likes of Naturally 7, Overboard, The Boxettes, Musae and more. Master classes, a collegiate competition, and a collaborative track recording are just a few of the planned happenings at the festival, going on November 11-13. The Los Angeles A Cappella Festival has announced its official dates for this upcoming year, January 27-29, 2012. In addition, a new CASA event has been recently announced via the Mouth Off Show, taking place this Spring in the Boston area. Stay tuned for more details.

The Sing-Off – The wildly popular, soon to be Monday night staple, NBC primetime a cappella competition officially announced the 16 groups that will be appearing on the show this fall beginning on September 19. For a complete list of the contestants, and a little bit more about them (bio, sneak peek etc) click here. For those of you on Twitter, each group’s twitter handles are available there as well. CD Releases/HappeningsYale Out of the Blue, a mixed group at Yale University, is premiering their 10th album entitled 16 Edgewood, the official release date being September 1. The Spokes, an all-female group out of UC-Davis are also releasing their newest album on the 1st entitled On the Wall. Duke’s Out of the Blue also has just released their newest album entitled Still Point.Season 2 Sing-Off Winners Committed have released their first self-titled studio album this past month and are currently climbing the charts on iTunes. Boston based Ball in the House also recently debuted their new live album. The Magnets are currently in studio working on a new album, as well as newly crowned Sing-Off contestants Sonos who continue to work on their entirely original new album.
