ACB weekend news and a contest!

Newsline

The ACB at Johns Hopkins
The A Cappella Blog will have a representative at the ICCA Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinal this weekend, at Johns Hopkins University. If you spot someone wearing an A Cappella Blog t-shirt at the event, go up and tell him, "I'm all about The ACB." You'll receive a free ACB Save The Music wristband, and one dollar will be donated in your name to the VH1 Save the Music fund. Wristband supplies will be limited, so don't be shy--introduce yourself early!

Introducing... the "Viva La Vida" contest!
In our review of the Penn State Mid-Atlantic quarterfinal, we suggested that Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" might be the most covered song in collegiate a cappella this year--so why not embrace it? We are calling on any and everyone to go to our Contact page and send us YouTube links to a cappella versions of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida." You need not be one of the performers to nominate a clip. Just send us the link no later than midnight Sunday, March 22.

The ACB staff will look over the nominations and pick up to to ten favorites. From there, we will post them on the site for our readers to vote on. The winning version of the song will be featured in the last Tuesday Tubin' of this publication season on May 26, and will be featured prominently on the site all the way until our 2010 season launches.

Kudos to ACB reader Danny for originally suggesting this contest.
