The Swingle Singers
Amidst the a cappella scene within our own borders it's easy to lose sight of what's going on around the world. In International Spotlight we introduce readers to groups that are making noise (not to mention incredible music) in foreign lands.
Since their debut in 1963, The Swingle Singers have been making incredible music with just a handful of voices. Though the members may have changed over the years, their quality and ambition has remained at the highest level as the group tours internationally, records outstanding albums (they have no fewer than five Grammy Awards), and hosts the annual London A Cappella Festival. Through the group itself is based in London, not all of the current members were born and raised in the UK; on the contrary, today’s lineup includes singers who grew up in the US, Canada, and Kenya.
