Heck, even for those of us who do actively enjoy it, it can be difficult to put into words why we enjoy this art form so. College can be draining. There are classes to attend, tests to study for, rehearsals to endure. The whole experience can be exhausting, but the surest way to get through a week in the life is to know there’s something to look forward to—something like an arch sing on a Friday afternoon?
Weekly a cappella concerts provide a great kick start to the weekend for the performers, and a sure bet for something entertaining to do for the spectators. They represent one of the truest opportunities for an a cappella group to connect with its audience because it helps groups transition from more than just novelty entertainment to a part of the regular routine for the fans. In short, it’s a key example of crossing boundaries and making a cappella away of life.
