Introducing Someone Else to A Cappella
For the uninitiated, it can be difficult to understand why people love a cappella. Heck, even for those of us who do actively enjoy it, it can be difficult to put into words why we enjoy this art form so. While we’ll never have a truly comprehensive list of everything cool about a cappella, 200 Reasons to Love A Cappella is our best attempt at assembling a list of what makes it great.
Reason #58: Introducing Someone Else to A Cappella
For many of us, our love of a cappella is either a dirty little secret, or a trait we feel the need to make excuses for in everyday interactions. But then there are those rare occasions when we get someone to come along to a show with us. No, a cappella is not for everyone, but the way in which the form has grown in popularity over the last few years suggests the appeal is much wider spread than the naysayers would have you believe. Be it the contemporary song choices, the theatrics, the vocal percussion, the sheer musicality, or the synergy of all of the above, a cappella is straight up engaging. There are few more vindicating experiences than exposing a new fan to it, then waiting until the next day when they hit you up for YouTube suggestions to further their newfound interest.
I love it!
