For the uninitiated, it can be difficult to understand why people love a cappella. Heck, even for those of us who do actively enjoy it, it can be difficult to put into words why we enjoy this art form so. While we’ll never have a truly comprehensive list of everything cool about a cappella, 200 Reasons to Love A Cappella is our best attempt at assembling a list of what makes it great.
Reason #4: Hot Girls
To quote an infamous line from the teen classic American Pie, “These vocal jazz chicks are hot!”

I’m not seeking to objectify the ladies of a cappella here, but let’s be honest—take an attractive woman, give her the opportunity to show off her pipes, and you have a recipe for unmitigated hotness. I was first, in all earnestness, lured into the a cappella world by a long-term girlfriend who is in a group, and have dated a couple alumnae since then, so maybe this is just my flavor—but I think there’s more to it than that. When a woman is part of an a cappella group it’s demonstrative of talent, and also of confidence—a willingness to get on stage and share her talents with the world. These are very attractive qualities, and surely a piece of what makes a cappella great.
