200 Reasons To Love A Cappella

Reason #49: “Here It Goes Again,” as Performed by VoiceMale

In the spring of 2008, I had the opportunity to see Brandeis University VoiceMale in action for the first time. The all-male group performed quite well through a range of pop songs, but no piece of their repertoire quite captured the imagination of the audience like this one. A cappella purists will always complain about excessive choreography that takes away from music and muddles the purpose of a cappella as a musical art form. Performances like this one are great because they help fans forget about the saltiness and elitism of such debates, and just have fun. This isn’t a musical masterpiece (thought it’s not half bad), but the simulation of treadmill choreography, paired with high energy, perfectly synchronized swings of the arms and turns are sure to make the most jaded a cappella fan smile, sit back, and enjoy the show.

I love it!
