The guys brought a unique swagger and sensibility to the competition—a combination of British charm and youthful gusto; largely old-fashioned song selection executed with all of the eager energy of the college kids who composed each incarnation of the group. European scholastic a cappella isn’t quite the same as the American style, but also isn’t so divergent. It’s something of a delicacy, unfamiliar to the American palate but appealing nonetheless.
