VH1 calls out a cappella lovers, free workshop for women

The A Cappella Blog will launch its new publication season in less than two weeks, on January 5, 2009. The new season will include guest columns from such luminaries as Varsity Vocals Executive Director Amanda Grish Newman and a cappella recording icon Bill Hare, a new recurring column by Duke University Out of the Blue's Nancy Cheng, and several other new features. We'll be posting just about every week day from January 5 through the end of May, so be sure to have us bookmarked, or add us to your RSS feed.

Free vocal seminar for women in high school or collegiate a cappella Sweet Adelines, Region 1 has announced a Young Women in Harmony Vocal Workshop. Organizers invite female singers in High School through age 25 to participate, and learn three contemporary songs.

The seminar is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Sheraton Ferncroft Resort Hotel in Danvers, MA. This is a free workshop, but pre-registration is required to receive a link to your music prior to the event (learning materials can be mailed to those who cannot download them).
