Hello again, readers! We've got some a cappella news to kickstart your week, as well as some news about our site.
The A Cappella Blog announces a new partnership with VH1: The A cappella Blog has come to terms with the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, for a special fundraising project this winter. We will be working with the Foundation to raise money to support music education programs at schools across the country. Many more details to come.
Ben Folds wants you: Ben Folds has announced a new project--an album featuring all collegiate a cappella covers of his own songs. Check out the details here.
A cappella in the media: Has been making some wave in major media outlets. The New York Times published a piece by Mickey Rapkin about Straight No Chaser's rise to the mainstream.
Meanwhile, ABC's Good Morning America did a piece on collegiate a cappella, produced a piece on collegiate a cappella, with a focus on the Virginia Hullaboos. You can read about it here or catch some video below.
The A Cappella Blog to start new publication season on January 5, 2009: While The ACB will continue to publish major news items as they arise, we will resume a regular posting schedule starting January 5. We already have a wealth of content together, but are continuing amass new features, including pieces by a number of guest columnists.
