Interviews
Enharmonics

In honor of the 2017 ICCA tournament, The A Cappella Blog pursued short interviews with competing groups to develop insights into why and how groups approach competition, and to get appropriately excited for the tremendous shows ahead of us.

What’s your group name and on what date is your group’s quarterfinal?

Our group is Enharmonics A Cappella and our quarterfinal is on February 4thin Scottsdale, Arizona.

How long has your group been around? Have you competed before?

Our group was created in August of 2014 and we competed in ICCA for the first time in 2016

Why are you competing this year? What does your group hope to accomplish or get out of the experience?

Our goal for ICCA is to do our personal best and grow from the experience of seeing other groups perform as well as from the feedback we get from the judges. More than half our group is brand new this semester and mostly freshmen, so we really want to expose our new members to the ICCA experience before some of us older members graduate

How is your group preparing for competition?

Our preparation for ICCA is much like our usual rehearsal routine, but we've extended most of our rehearsals to add plenty of time to work on choreography.
