Famed actor James Van Der Beek (star of Dawson’s Creek, Varsity Blues) was a member of a collegiate a cappella group. During his undergraduate career at Drew University, in Madison, NJ, Van Der Beek was a part of the all-male a cappella group, 36 Madison Avenue. Van Der Beek was a part of the class of 1999.
36 Madison Avenue was founded in 1987 and is still going strong today, advancing to the ICCA semifinals as recently as last year, in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
